Typically the process of buying a car can make you lose the will to live. There's the pressure, the little awkward finance room, the negotiating, the hours spent. Not here! First time at Tom Roush yesterday, and it will not be our last! The sales staff were relaxed, offered me to take the car for a few hours (even with inventory low), super helpful and knowledgeable. Pete knew his stuff and helped us make the right selection for our family. I went back and forth tons, and he was truly nice & patient. We never once felt pressured and today feel confident in the Mazda we chose. I have to say Moe, the finance manager was just great! That part of buying a car is usually the longest most drawn out & sometimes uncomfortable. He was So respectful of our time. He was knowledgeable and shared the info he needed to with us, but again we felt no pressure, and were in and out! Overall, the best car buying experience we've had.

I went in to look at a specific used vehicle, and wasn’t going to even have them look at my current vehicle since I have someone who wants to buy it from me. The sales guy was friendly and openly pointed out both good and possible bad about the vehicle. (Only reason this isn’t a one star review) I liked the vehicle I test drove and was thinking through the logistics of how to ensure I could put a hold on it. Against my better judgement, I decided to let them make an offer on my vehicle. They gave me a low-ball offer that just happened to be just over the payoff amount, which I made the mistake of telling them before they have an offer. Their excuse: a “possible $1800 repair” based off of a warning light they didn’t get the code for. Even if it were an $1800 repair, that would net them at least an $8k profit, most likely more like $10k based on what similar vehicles (including the small rust spots) with 50k more miles are going for. Luckily, there are other dealerships with similar vehicles to the one I was looking at; because this was enough to stop me from going back after I sell my vehicle.

Brad took very good care of everything my car was in need of. This was my first visit to Tom Roush as I always went to the dealership I bought my car from. But, since they were less than 5 minutes from my house, I was hoping I would have a great experience, and I wasn't disappointed. Brad was very easy to work with and called before doing anything extra. I will continue to have my car serviced at Tom Roush, Westfield.

I surprised myself by going back to Tom Roush as I had a bad experience with a used car purchase a few years ago (they claimed "full service" had been done on the used car but it turned out not to be the case). The new car sales experience was very good - the sales person was very friendly, helpful and genuine. The car purchase was my daughter's first car and Larry was very patient & knowledgeable as he explained the car's many features. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of how long it took to get me out of the dealership after agreeing to the purchase. I realize there's a fair amount of paperwork involved but we waited over an hour before I was able to sit with the business manager. Even though I had specifically requested to not sit through the extended maintenance presentation, they presented it anyway - thus wasting both my time and theirs. The business manager said they must present the extended warranty in order to follow state law. That's unfortunate. FYI - This dealership also claims to apply a wax treatment to its cars and tacks on an add'l $299 to the MSRP for it. It reminds me of the "TruCoat" charge from the movie Fargo. Overall though, I'd buy consider buying from them again.
